Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has finally been confirmed as the next Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
She was confirmed as the next Director-General at a special general council meeting which was held today.
Taking to their official Twitter handle, she was announced in a tweet which reads;
Dr. Okonjo-Iweala makes history as the first woman and the first African to lead the WTO.
Her term starts on the 1st of March 2021.
