NABTEB Releases of Nov./Dec. Examination Results

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board, (NABTEB), yesterday, announced the release of the 2020 November/December examination results.

Registrar of NABTEB, Prof. Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe disclosed that of the 32,336 candidates that sat for the examination, 21,175 scored five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics.

Addressing journalists at national headquarters in Benin City, Edo State, she stated that 21,175, representing 75.7 per cent of the candidates that sat for the examination, scored five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics.

She said: “25,844 candidates obtained five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics, representing 91.52 per cent of the candidates that sat for the examination.

“A total of 32,541 candidates registered for the examinations in 1,583 centres, but 32,336 actually took the test.”

 

Isiugo-Abanihe said examination malpractice drastically reduced in the year under review, due to the quality assurance mechanisms put in place by the board, adding that 250 candidates were found wanting in one kind of malpractice or the other.
BESIDES, no fewer than 148 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the International Christian Centre (ICC), Uhogua, Ovia North East Council, may miss this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) due to issues of Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card.

Coordinator of the centre, Solomon Folorunsho, who made the disclosure, expressed concern that the students might miss out on the examination because of their inability to get the SIM card needed to generate the UTME PIN.

He said the registration processes for the examination would expire on May 15, but noted that generating the PIN was expected to end on Monday, May 10, 2021 (yesterday).
