Leo Mezie Cause Of Death: What Happened To The Nollywood Actor?

Popular Nollywood actor, Leonard Chimezie Onyemachi, mostly known as Leo Mezie has died after years of battling kidney disease.

Leo Mezie, aged 46, reportedly died on Saturday May 14, 2022 after undergoing a kidney transplant.

It should be noted that this is not the first time Mezie has undergone a kidney transplant.

Mezie had his first kidney transplant over four years ago.

Mezie had another transplant somewhere last week, but began to develop complications and died on Saturday.

What Happened To The Nollywood Actor?

Mezie’s death was confirmed by actress Chioma Toplis via Instagram on Monday, May 16, 2022.

According to Chioma, Mezie died on Saturday in Abuja while recovering from the kidney transplant.

Chioma further added that his corpse has been moved to his hometown Umuahia, for burial.

 

Mezie was born on 25 January, 1976 and rose to fame in 2003, after the role he played in the Nollywood blockbuster ‘Labista’.

Mezie starred in Labista alongside Emma Ehummadu, Jerry Williams and Ernest Asuzu.
