Ledisi Anibade Young,  better known simply as Ledisi, was born on March 28, 1972, in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States of America. Ledisi is 50 years old as of 2022.

Ledisi was raised in Oakland, California. She started performing publicly at age eight with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra and later studied opera and piano at the University of California Berkeley.
