Kidnappings: Fayemi, Tambuwal, Bagudu Attend Closed-door Meeting With Masari

The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi and his counterparts from Sokoto and Kebbi states held a closed-door meeting with Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari on the issue of kidnappings.
Fayemi, who is the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, briefed reporters after a meeting at the Katsina State House of Assembly.

He called on his colleagues to adopt a style that would encourage young people to avoid crime, Press Informant reported.

The Ekiti State governor said he and his colleagues were all concerned about the security situation in the northwest and the country as a whole.

Fayemi called on all his colleagues to intensify the fight against the banditry and all the crimes that plague the region.

In a separate development A police officer who was trying to rescue hostages in Bosuwa village in Maigatari Local Government Area of ​​Jigawa State was shot dead by kidnappers on Monday.

State police spokesman SP Abdu Jinjiri confirmed the incident to Channels TV on Tuesday.

He said the suspects abducted 70-year-old Ali Dankoli and Zainab Isah, the daughter of former Maigatari Local Government Area chairman Isa Zakari Bosuwa.
