Jeremy Dickson Paxman is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television presenter.

Born in Leeds, Paxman was educated at Malvern Faculty and St Catharine’s Greater training, Cambridge, wherever he edited the undergraduate newspaper Varsity.

At Cambridge, he was a member of a Labour Bash membership and defined himself as a socialist, although in afterward on a regular basis dwelling described himself as a 1-country conservative.

He joined the BBC in 1972, at first at BBC Radio Brighton, although he relocated to London in 1977.
