Wesley Cook Bentley, an American actor who was born on September 4, 1978, is best known for his performances as Ricky Fitts in American Beauty (1999), for which he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor, Seneca Crane in The Hunger Games (2012), Doyle in Interstellar (2014), and Erik in Mission: Impossible – Fallout. He was one of four subjects in the 2009 documentary My Big Break, which explored his fame following the film American Beauty and drug misuse issues. He starred in the world premiere of David Ives’ Venus in Fur in the off-Broadway play in 2010, reviving his career. The Four Feathers (2002), Ghost Rider (2007), P2 (2007), and Pete’s Dragon are a few of his previous cinematic appearances (2016).

Early life
Bentley was the third of four kids to be born to Cherie Baker and David Bentley. He was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, but he spent his childhood in Little Rock. Both of his parents are active members of the United Methodist Church; his father serves as a pastor, while his mother is both a chaplain and an ordained elder in the Arkansas Conference. His ancestry can be traced back to Germany, Scotland, and England.

He received his diploma from Sylvan Hills High School in Sherwood, Arkansas, in the year 1996.

He was a member of Group 29 at the Juilliard School’s Drama Division from 1996 to 2000[8,] but he left the school after only one year to pursue a career in acting.

Jennifer Quanz, an actress, and Bentley were married from the year 2001 to 2009. They separated in 2009 because of his addiction to various substances. In 2010, he tied the knot with the producer Jacqui Swedberg. They have a girl who was born in 2014 and a son who was born in late 2010.

He revealed his spiral into heroin addiction, which began nearly immediately after his triumph with American Beauty, in an essay that was published in The New York Times on February 8, 2010. He said that he disguised his addiction from his wife; the couple divorced in 2006, and he went to an apartment where he began using drugs on a full-time basis. He said that he hid his addiction from his wife. During this time, he worked here and there, only picking up enough hours to cover his expenses and purchase drugs. On the sets of the films P2 and Weirdsville, he began to act out due to his addiction, which led to his arrest in 2008 and subsequent participation in counseling and 12-step programs as a result of the court order.
