How Angelique Kidjo Helped Burna Boy To Win His First Grammy Award

Nigerian musician, Burna Boy won the World Music Album at this year’s Grammy Awards.

It could be recalled that he lost that prestigious award to legendary African musician, Angelique Kidjo last year.

After the loss, he was asked by one of his followers how he felt and he replied saying he felt very sick, however, the legendary musician made him understand everything he needed to know about the Grammys.

The tweet was made in March 2020 and he revealed that after receiving the tips from Angelique Kidjo who he labelled as his musical mother, he felt twice as tall and that gave birth to his album that eventually won him the award this year.

The tweet he made reads;

“Sick. Totally sick. But my musical Mother @angeliquekidjo told me everything I needed to understand about the Grammys. So now I’m “Twice as Tall” (that’s the name of my next Album by the way dropping in July by the grace of the most High)”
