Friendly: Bassey faces late fitness test ahead of Super Eagles vs Portugal

Ajax defender, Calvin Bassey will undergo a late fitness test ahead of Nigeria’s friendly against Portugal on Thursday.

Bassey sustained an injury in Ajax’s 3-3 draw against Emmen last weekend.

The 22-year-old linked up with his international teammates in camp on Monday despite not being fully fit.

“We have rested him and I hope he can play,” Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro told NFF TV.

“Tommorow , he will have a test to know whether he can play or not.”

Nigeria will be without leading marksman, Victor Osimhen, Zaidu Sanusi, Ola Aina and Jamilu Collins for the game.
