Students from Lugulu Girls High School in Bungoma County, Kenya have taken to the streets to protest against alleged rape of one of them by some a teacher in the school.

No less than 306 of the students of the school were seen walking from their school compound to Webuye Police Station where they demanded the arrest of the perpetrator.

The girls claim several girls have been raped in the school by teachers and people from neighbouring communities.

They claim that in the latest case, students witnessed a teacher defile a student but the Principal warned them against informing the parents of the victim or members of the public.

The student is said to have been defiled on Saturday morning when she was taking a bath before morning classes. She was rescued by a fellow student who appeared at the scene and began screaming for help.

Kenyans reacted, claiming this has been going on for a while and victims always get silenced, or the male teacher will be transferred to a different school without being made to face the consequences.

However, some rape apologists tried to make a case for the teachers, claiming that students sometimes throw themselves at them.
