Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur star, Jamie Redknapp, has hit out at Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, saying the Dutchman made two big errors against Brighton.

Man United lost against Brentford in Saturday’s Premier League tie at Gtech Community Stadium.

Four goals from Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo gave Brentford the victory over Man United.

But Redknapp believes Ten Hag made mistakes by playing Christian Eriksen in an unfamiliar defensive role and Lisandro Martinez in the central defender.

“I cannot believe what I’m watching from this Man Utd team,” Redknapp told Sky Sports at half-time.

“They are a team with a Man Utd badge that have just been thrown out there. They don’t look like they are showing any responsibility or showing they care.

“The manager is making mistakes. Christian Eriksen is not a defensive midfield player in any lifetime and he’s playing that role, so he has to accept that.

“Martinez is not strong enough as a central defender getting bullied. It’s just summed up Manchester United and that’s two decisions the manager has made.”
