The two legends shared different opinions over the inclusion of Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo in the short list of three best players in the league.

The pair were asked to name the three best players in the Premier League and both pundits agreed on Manchester City stars Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland after their brilliant form so far this season.

Now for the third person to appear in the list Carragher, a Liverpool legend, picked Van Dijk while Keane selected former team-mate, Ronaldo.

“Kevin De Bruyne I think has been the best player in the league for four or five years, you’ve got to say, Haaland, now he is an absolute global superstar and despite his form this season I’m going to still say Virgil van Dijk,” said Carragher.

Keane said, “De Bruyne, Haaland and Ronaldo.”
