EPL: Premier League announces 36 new COVID-19 infections

The Premier League, EPL, has announced that 36 people have tested positive for COVID-19 following the latest mass testing phase.

EPL disclosed this in a statement via its official website on Monday.

The statement read in part,

“The Premier League can today confirm that between Monday 4 January and Sunday 10 January, across two rounds of testing, 2,593 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19.

“Of these, there were 36 new positive tests.

“Players or club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate for a period of 10 days.”

EPL had last week confirmed 40 positive COVID-19 results.
