Phil Robertson, reality television star from the ‘Duck Dynasty’ series, demonstrates a duck call during a recent store appearance at the new DICK’S Sporting Goods Grand Opening Celebration at the Baybrook Mall in Friendswood, TX on Friday, October 21, 2016.

A&E has canceled “Duck Dynasty” after five years, the network announced Wednesday night. The reality TV show’s upcoming 11th season, which premieres Jan. 18, will be the last, though holiday specials may follow. “Duck Dynasty” was once the most-watched nonfiction series in cable history, despite controversy over family patriarch Phil Robertson’s comments comparing homosexuality to bestiality. A&E says the show still remains the network’s No. 1 series among total viewers but Willie Robertson said Wednesday that the family decided “for this to be the final chapter of the Duck Dynasty series.”

The Stone Temple Pilots have a new lead singer after briefly collaborating with Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington. ET reports “X Factor” season 3 runner-up Jeff Gutt, who now performs with his full name Jeffrey Adam Gutt, is working with STP members Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz on new material and planning a 2017 tour. Gutt replaces original STP singer Scott Weiland, who died last year while on tour with his band The Wildabouts.

If you want some late ’90s, early 2000s nostalgia, a bunch of Disney Channel promo videos leaked online this week, showing Hilary Duff, Raven-Symone, Demi Lovato and other stars hilariously shoot segments where they trace Mickey Mouse’s ears with a wand. The “Lizzie McGuire” actress hilariously didn’t realize what shape she was supposed to be making while the “That’s So Raven” star delivers an epic death stare when she’s asked to do her 175th (or so) take.

And Metallica performed “Enter Sandman” on classroom instruments with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, proving any song can sound great with kazoos and plastic bongos. It’s a weird, wonderful sight to see singer James Hetfield embracing the modern music scene — the hard rock band released a slew of new music videos on YouTube Wednesday and their catalog is now on Napster (formerly Rhapsody) 17 years after battling file-sharing, which is now a streaming service. Metallica’s new album “Hardwired… To Self-Destruct” is out Friday.
