The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has slammed the leader of a self-styled group in the party, The Osun Progressives (TOP), over his press conference calling for restructuring of the party.

The caucus chairman from the group that is loyal to Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, Rasaq Salinsile, on Wednesday, urged the National Working Committee of the party to immediately see to the restructuring and re-energizing of the party in the state for greater future performance.

Meanwhile, the Media Adviser to the Osun State APC chairman, Kola Olabisi on Wednesday said TOP leaders worked against Governor Gboyega Oyetola and contributed to the loss of the party in the July 16 gubernatorial election.

“If Salinsile and his group did not deliberately work and scheme for the loss of the APC, he should tell the world why he shunned the invitation to the pre-election meeting of the Iwo Federal Constituency issued by its secretary, Hon Kola Aworinde.

“Salinsile’s position that the members of the TOP worked for Oyetola is a fluke and face-saving which could only be believed by scallywags based on direct and verifiable circumstantial evidence before and after the election.

“Salinsile should be told that the members of his shameless group cannot eat their cake and at the same time, have it.

Olabisi asked Salinsile to queried Salinsile’s right for calling for restructuring saying the group “don’t have the moral right to canvas, effect or suggest the restructuring of the Osun State APC after having collectively and conscientiously worked for the PDP in the state.”

Salinsile and Elder Biyi Adelowo, according to APC, should stop insulting the sensibilities of the people of the state saying the duo lost their units, wards and local governments during the governorship election.
