Rising country singer Craig Strickland has been found dead after going missing nearly two weeks ago.

Strickland, 29, was the lead singer for country band Backroad Anthem in Alma, Arkansas. E! and TMZ have confirmed that his body was found by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Marine Enforcement Division on Monday morning in an area called Bear Creek Cove.

“In case we don’t come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. [?] #IntoTheStorm,” Morland’s last tweet said.

Backroad Anthem released their first EP, “Small Town Fame,” in 2013 and have opened for artists like Chris Young, Josh Turner, Gary Allan, Joe Nichols, Eli Young Band and Dustin Lynch.

Strickland, who performed with the band at a BMI music showcase in November, married former Miss Arkansas USA Helen Elizabeth Wisner last year.

“We cannot thank you enough for the hard work and tiresome volunteer hours you poured into the search for #craigstrickland,” she wrote on Instagram Sunday, the eighth day of the search. “Your acts of kindness and generosity gave our family continued hope.”

A cause of death for Strickland has not been announced, but it’s believed to be related to the winter storm that also caused 50 injuries and the death of a woman in Oklahoma City. Ice and flooding knocked out power to nearly 200,000 customers and affected travel on roads and at airports last Monday.
