Court docket remands gospel singer Osinachi’s husband in Kuje jail

The Federal Capital Territory Excessive Court docket sitting in Wuse, Abuja has remanded Peter Nwachukwu, husband of the late fashionable gospel singer, Osinachi, in Kuje Correctional Centre.

 

The Federal Authorities arraigned Nwachukwu on Friday, June 3.

 

He’s dealing with 23-count bordering on culpable murder, verbal, bodily abuse and wrongful confinement, wrongful restraint, financial abuse, compelled isolation, emotional and psychological abuse and try to commit culpable murder, amongst others.

The presiding choose, Justice N.Ok. Nwosu-Iheme gave the order on Friday after he pleaded not responsible to 23 expenses bordering on home violence and murder, amongst others.

 

She ordered that the suspect be remanded on the correctional facility whereas the trial was adjourned to June 16 and June 17.

 

The 42-year-old gospel singer died on April 8, after spending days at a hospital. Her husband was accused of subjecting her to home violence, which led to her loss of life.

 

Following the incident, Nwachukwu was arrested by the police and he has since been in detention.

 

Nwachukwu was charged beneath sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of Legal Justice Act, 2015 and culpable murder opposite to part 221 of the Penal Code which is punishable with loss of life.
