Richard Kuuia Baawobr was a well-regarded and respected Ghanaian prelate of the Catholic Church who was bishop of Wa in Ghana from 2016 until eventually his dying in late 2022.

Richard Kuuia Baawobr was a member of the Missionaries of Africa, recognized as the White Fathers, he labored in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, France, and Tanzania before being named a bishop in Ghana.

Richard Kuuia Baawobr was born on June 21, 1959, in Tom-Zendagangn, in the Nandom District of Ghana.

Richard Kuuia Baawobr started off his education and learning in a village university before he proceeded to the St. Francis Xavier Slight Seminary, and Nandom Secondary College.

Richard Kuuia Baawobr entered the St. Victor major seminary in Tamale in 1979 for his philosophical scientific studies.

In 1981 he joined the Society of Missionaries of Africa and continued his preparing for the priesthood. From 1981 to 1982 he fulfilled his novitiate in Friborg, Switzerland. From 1982 to 1987, he accomplished his theological reports at the Missionary Institute London.
