A car wash operator who probably thought he was smart has been nabbed.

He was named by policemen attached to the Ogun State Police Command and per reports, this man is a Lagos car washer identified as Kazeem Olanrewaju.

He reportedly ‘vanished’ with a customer’s Toyota Venza car with registration number APP 775 GB.

He was by the Divisional Police Officer, Idiroko Division, CSP Shadrach Oriloye who was on routine patrol with his men.

The policemen sighted the Venza car without number plate, and the car was being driven in a suspicious manner.

Upon getting to where policemen were stationed, he was asked to stop, however, he didn’t stop as he reportedly sped off.

The policemen had no option other than to pursue him and unfortunately for him, he was apprehended.

A search was then conducted by the police and it was discovered that the number plate of the vehicle was removed and kept in the car.

He was then interrogated and he confessed that he was working with a car wash in Festac Town, Lagos State.

He added that he was given the car by a customer to wash while the owner went to a nearby barbing saloon to have his hair cut.

However, he ran away with it immediately after the owner went to the barbering salon. He stated that he was on his way to neighbouring Benin Republic with the car when he was nabbed by the police.
