Blasphemy: Sokoto youths stage protest, demand release of suspects arrested over Deborah’s murder

Some Muslim youths in Sokoto State, this morning May 14, filed out in their numbers to demand the release of the two suspects arrested by the police in connection with the murder of Deborah Samuel.

 

A student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Deborah was killed on Thursday, May 12, over claims that she insulted Prophet Mohammed.

Armed with placards, the protesting youths were seen shouting “Allahu Akbar” translated in English as ‘God is great’.

 

The protest started at the roundabout of Zabira mall and they marched through Gao-nama onwards flyover within the state metropolis.
