Attahiru’s replacement: Don’t retire Igbo ranking officer – Ohanaeze Youths to Buhari

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, OYC, has instructed the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to not tinker with retiring the best Igbo rating officer within the Nigerian Military.

PRESS INFORMANT learnt that Main Normal Ben Ahanotu, from Anambra State, is the second in command to the late Chief of Military Workers, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru.

He’s at present the Chief of Coverage and Plan of the Nigerian Army.

Ahanotu, member of normal course 35, was the commander of the navy operation that captured the founding father of Boko Haram, Mohammed Yusuf, and his followers at their hideout in Maiduguri in 2009.

In an announcement by OYC President-Normal, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike he mentioned Ndigbo had suffered sufficient injustice within the hand of the Buhari Authorities.

He added that “there are even rising claims that Gen. Ahanotu shouldn’t be presently performing because the Chief of Military Workers even though he’s the best rating Military officer.

“If that is true, it shouldn’t be and it might ship extra hazard alerts to the already agitated youths of the Southeast. Buhari should for once unite this country.

“We can’t perceive a situation where no Igbo man sits in the Security Council assembly, it doesn’t augur effectively for the nation.”

The group additional reinstated their stand that the Nigerian President of Igbo extraction in 2023 was non-negotiable.
