Angry Residents Attack Police Station

An offended mob on Saturday attacked the divisional police headquarters within the Tangaza Native Authorities Space of Sokoto State and killed 13 suspected bandits whose corpses had been burnt to ashes.

The bandits had been stated to be amongst those that invaded the realm round 8pm on Friday, killing two individuals, together with a store proprietor.

On Saturday morning, residents, primarily youths, gathered and joined law enforcement officials from the realm to go after the bandits of their forest.

Through the raid, 13 of the suspected assailants had been nabbed in Tangaza forest and delivered to the divisional police headquarters.

A villager stated once they had been introduced into the city, residents adopted the crew to the divisional police station and demanded that the bandits should be killed of their presence.

“The youths had been offended and regardless of pleas from the DPO (Divisional Police Officer) and the native authorities chairman, they insisted that if the policemen didn’t kill the bandits of their presence, they’d burn down the police station,” he stated.

The offended youths subsequently overpowered the police and killed all of the suspects whose corpses had been set on hearth.
