Actress, Zainab Balogun Shades Ruth Kadiri For Calling Out Eko Awards Organizers

Nigerian film actress Zainab Balogun has indirectly shaded her colleague Ruth Kadiri via her Instagram page for calling out the Eko Award Organizers after they refused to give her due recognition.

Ruth who was dissatisfied by the neglect had earlier taken to her page to lament that the organizer of the show overlooked and she will not be pressured but will continue to work hard. She went ahead to congratulate all those who were recognized at the show.

In her words,

“I am a filmmaker. I am a woman. I am a hard-working woman. I have faced the struggles every woman/filmmaker has faced. Did my name at any point pop up yes, but because I do not belong to a click? Yet again, I have been overlooked will not be pressured. I will keep working hard. @lagosstategovt @moabudu @ijayonah @nifsummit thanks for overlooking me and congrats to everyone who got recognized.”

Actress Zainab taking to her Instagram page also wrote;

“Yesterday was emotional. I don’t know how we all didn’t burst into tears I think it’s fair to say we need a monthly summit. God knows I LOVE acting. Absolutely love it with every bone in my body yet being a Nigerian female creative can be SO tiring. I have stories for days!!!! It’s so easy to feel overlooked when you go against the grain. Yesterday I was honored along with a room full of talented women who are simply doing their best and moving the needle effortlessly. Actress Zainab Balogun was last in the news after she explained the huge toll the Coronavirus pandemic took on her health and wellbeing.
In a post via her Instagram page, she recounted the hard times she endured when her test came back positive on Covid.

She captioned her post as: I’m Covid Free!!! 3 words that i’ve been waiting to say for what seemed like forever. I did my 3rd covid PCR test on Friday and woke up NEGATIVE😀. Allow me to act a fool and celebrate because God knows I was ready to be done. Thank you for checking in guys❤️. Sending good vibes your way!
