ABUAD Awards Ooni Of Ife Doctorate Degree (Photos)
The Arole Oduduwa and Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, was on Sunday honoured with a Diploma of Physician of Letters, Honoris Causa, by the Afe Babalola College Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD).
This was confirmed in an announcement launched by Ooni’s palace on Friday.
The honour was a part of the programmes lined up in commemoration of the establishment’s 12 years of firm and ninth Convocation Ceremony.
In keeping with the establishment, Ooni Ogunwusi who’s the Chancellor of the College of Nigeria, Nsukka, was so thought-about due to his immeasurable contribution to the event of schooling in Nigeria, notably by means of ABUAD.
In his acceptance speech, the Ooni lauded the College, particularly its proprietor, Aare Afe Babalola who’s a regulation luminary, calling on the institutionalization of the founder’s lofty goals and ideologies in the direction of the development of schooling in Nigeria and Africa.
“We will have like an institute for the Afe Babalola Theories, for our kids and the technology but unborn to study this icon like we had been taught about Isaac Newton and different students of the western world,” Ooni suggested.
Earlier in his welcome tackle, Aare Afe Babalola thanked the Ooni for his steady help for the establishment, particularly the current partnership in medical analysis which led to the manufacturing and distribution of some NAFDAC-approved medication.
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, Ewo of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, equally acquired honourary levels on the occasion that was attended by high dignitaries together with the Authorities of Ekiti, Dr Kayode Fayemi and former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko amongst others.
