A chieftain of Labour Party, LP, Senator Victor Umeh, has revealed that the party’s campaign council for its presidential candidate, Peter Obi is being delayed to ensure the best team was galvanized.

The former federal lawmaker made this known on Friday while fielding questions from journalists during Igbo Day celebration in Awka, Anambra State.

According to him, Obi can win the 2023 presidential race without a campaign council, saying that the party does things differently.

He said: “We are careful in the Labour Party. We don’t do things because others are doing. We search for things that will make Nigeria great again.

“When we searched for Obi’s running mate, you saw that we waited to make sure we got someone who matched the pairing. Yusuf Datti Ahmed is a very seasoned person”.
